The graveness of the crimes being committed in the country today has increased, says Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

He accused media of unnecessarily publicizing to these crimes and in doing so benefiting the external forces against Sri Lanka.

Foreign powers, through non-governmental organization (NGOs), are presenting inaccurate statistics to portray crimes are committed within Sinhala Buddhist society and thereby are criticizing our society, Rajapaksa said during a function at the Matara Weherahena Temple.
